Case-Study for TeamLog, a Theory of Teamwork
نویسندگان
چکیده
This article presents a case-study of a theoretical multi-agent system designed to clean up ecological disasters. It focuses on the interactions within a team of agents, outlines their goals, and establishes the necessary distribution of knowledge and commitment throughout the team. In addition, cooperation between teams is treated. These aspects of teamwork are presented in the TEAMLOG formalism. We will show how to make a bridge between theoretical foundations of a BDI system and a real application. Complex team attitudes are justified to be necessary in the course of teamwork. At the same time we show how to establish them on a sufficient, but still minimal level.

TEAMLOG in action: A case study in teamwork
This article presents a case study of a theoretical multi-agent system designed to clean up ecological disasters. It focuses on the interactions within a heterogeneous team of agents, outlines their goals and plans, and establishes the necessary distribution of information and commitment throughout the team, including its sub-teams. These aspects of teamwork are presented in the TEAMLOG formali...
متن کاملModeling Deliberation in Teamwork
Cooperation in multi-agent systems essentially hinges on appropriate communication. This paper shows how to model communication in teamwork within TEAMLOG, the first multi-modal framework wholly capturing a methodology for working together. Taking off from the dialogue theory ofWalton and Krabbe, the paper focuses on deliberation, the main type of dialogue during team planning. We provide a fou...
متن کاملComplexity Issues in Multiagent Logics
Our previous research presents a methodology of cooperative problem solving for beliefdesire-intention (BDI) systems, based on a complete formal theory called TEAMLOG. This covers both a static part, defining individual, bilateral and collective agent attitudes, and a dynamic part, describing system reconfiguration in a dynamic, unpredictable environment. In this paper, we investigate the compl...
متن کاملComplexity issues in multimodal logics for multiagent systems
In this thesis we study the complexity of the satisfiability problem for TeamLog, a representative and widely recognized multimodal formalism for multiagent systems. We investigate a fragment of TeamLog, called TeamLogind, designed for specifying individual agents as well as full TeamLog, that allows for specifying group aspects of multiagent systems, in particular teamwork. We show that the sa...
